VANITY I am a long time lurker and occasional poster. I consider Free Republic to be one of the most informative sites available, but I find myself confused with the direction of commentary regarding Russia and the Ukriane. The media, the democrats, George Soros,the UN, the World economic forum. ALL either have LIED to us continually for the last four years or are actively involved in planning the destruction of our nation. At the Risk of being called a putinista or putard I have to ask the question. Why do we accept as fact the narrative that we are being fed by the msm? I'd like to get some sources on that. You might be right about the EU, but they probably expect us to do the wet-work for them.

The bigger military side fell apart in 1989 and left behind NUKE WEAPONs in the other country. The smaller country signed an agreement to relinquish those weapons
and HONORED it, in exchange for assurances of borders and sovereignty that the bigger military side has VIOLATED twice by invading twice. The USA was also part of that agreement and signed it, assuring sovereignty and then promptly betraying the smaller country. Do you deny this?

Both sides are wrong, but one of those sides INVADED the other. It’s like 2 adults hollering but one throws the first punch. The first puncher broke the law, and started the fight.

The title of this article is towards whether we’ve lost our discernment. In order to agree with you I have to buy into all kinds of conspiracy theory bullsnot. My discernment is that it’s bullsnot. There is just as much evidence that what you say is untrue as there is that it is true. So I would be looking for HARD evidence, stuff like which side invaded the other, and which side gave up Nukes in a signed agreement while the other side violated it.
The Patriot Act. Yeah, that brings back memories. All the statists came out of the woodwork for that one, not listening to any of the caveats — all of which are biting us in the backside right now.
Would the US stand by and let this happen or would we send troops to protect the provinces that want to secede?
***The current admin of the US would let it happen. Trump woulda done sumthin about it. But your whole scenario only looks at the one strained gnat while swallowing a whole camel. And that is the Budapest Agreement that Rukes, the Ukes, and US all signed. The Rukes violated it by invading, twice. The Ukes HONORED it. The US is busy trying to find ways to abrogate it and betray the Ukes.
It’s no secret that Putin stirred up the trouble in those western reaches of Ukraine. It is also no secret that he simply invaded Ukraine. He never would have invaded Ukraine if they had kept those nukes.
