I suppose a somewhat insignificant question now is “Why did they lie?” Are they completely incompetent or completely compromised? Either way, their careers as consulting authorities should be over since they can’t be trusted to speak the truth about such situations. I hope someone with the ability to end their careers is making a list. As a warning to others, part of any cleanup/clean out needs to be consequences for the people who have shown themselves to not be credible by their participation in the lies.

Should be obvious by now: Every body has to keep a list. Especially your own neighborhood. For me it’s 600 gallons of fuel to reach the folks who peemeeoff the most. So we each have to pace ourselves. Taking names comes first. Sooner or later comes the kickbutt.
I try to watch Jihad Jen do her press lying as much as possible. And, of course, I can always use a laugh, so when the Potato-in-Chief is trying to make word salad, I watch that circus too (yes, I will take a bow for taking more than one for the team, you all are welcome!).
I've been paying attention and I can say with a big degree of certainty that when this administration is gonna tell us a whopper, they always back it up with numbers of experts who can back up their claims. "17 Nobel prize winners said this tax won't affect you if you make under $400,00.00" and other lies.
So, when they tell you x amount of experts agree with them, they are lying. The bigger the number, or the more prestigious the person, the bigger the lie. They're just so sure that us stumble-bumpkins out in flyover country will buy whatever crap they're selling if they have "experts" to back 'em up.
Oh, and if Jihad Jen's lips are moving, she's lying!!!
People such as these "elites" / "Deep Staters", etc. have indeed captured our government and governments around the world. Such have long ago made their mark by swearing their fealty to the satanic/Jesuit mafia. Their salaries, position, benefits, career advancement, elite reputation, etc. have all been bought with their souls (at 33rd-degree mason (or its comparable levels in sister organizations) and beyond).
That these liars shown on the NYP cover (among others) were in synch with the (false, DS) official narrative for years should be understood as a red pill for all our friends that may still believe the term "conspiracy theorist" denigrates one's reputation. In actuality, whenever someone uses that term, all within earshot should reflexively ask whether the person so derided "just might be onto something important," especially if such a one is risking an accomplished career, achievements and reputation.
