Lia Thomas on Thursday night became the first transgender athlete to be crowned National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) champion, winning the 500 yard freestyle in Georgia - to a silent crowd.
Thomas, 22, scorched her competitors in Atlanta with a 4 minutes 33:24 second race - much to the chagrin of some of her teammates, and to those in the stands, who remained quiet as she won.

I would say the one on the left, by my comment I meant DNA could be used as a screening qualifier. Just because someone says they identify as a female does not make them one.

And not just scholarships. There’s very little money in NCAA swimming (or running). Only football and basketball have good $$. But college recruiting of all athletes of all sports opens up new opportunities for high school girls and guys. Like colleges they couldn’t quite get into with academics alone.

The idea of honor is disappearing. When I was a kid (66 now), people in the little town I grew up in would talk amongst themselves about people who didn’t pay their bills. Not paying your bills, especially if you are not broke or sick or something, was really frowned up and the people who did that knew it and felt some social pressure. Today, nobody cares. In some cases, you are a sucker if you pay your bills. What this guy is doing is just the natural progression of that.
