NH House approves bill to allow pharmacists to dispense ivermectin for COVID-19

CONCORD, N.H. —

The controversial debate over treating COVID-19 with the drug ivermectin made it to the floor of the New Hampshire House on Wednesday, with the Republican majority voting to make it easier to obtain the drug at pharmacies.

On a 183-159 vote, the House approved legislation allowing pharmacists to make ivermectin available via standing order.

"A standing order is a prescriptive protocol written by a physician or nurse practitioner that allows a pharmacist to dispense a medication without an individual prescription," said state Rep. Leah Cushman, R-Weare.

Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic drug that gained notoriety as a supposed home treatment for COVID-19 during the pandemic. It has since become a political flashpoint.

State Rep. Jerry Knirk, D-Freedom, who is a doctor, noted that there is no credible evidence that ivermectin is an effective treatment for COVID-19.

"The majority report claims that ivermectin has been shown to be helpful in reducing the severity and duration of COVID-19, but this is not true," he said. "There have been numerous studies that sound compelling, but upon analysis have design flaws."

Advocates for the standing order legislation said any benefits ivermectin might have are being obscured by the political debate over the drug.

"Because of this politicization, doctors are afraid to prescribe and pharmacies are afraid to dispense," Cushman said.

Republicans supporting the bill said ivermectin is already available over the counter in other countries, and they said the legislation will prevent people in New Hampshire from obtaining the wrong kind of formulation of the drug.

"Some people unable to get ivermectin over the counter here have been resorting to going to farm stores and getting it as it is formulated for livestock and not for people," said Rep. Mark Pearson, R-Hampstead.

There are approved treatments for COVID-19 that are available in New Hampshire, such as the antiviral drugs Paxlovid and molnupiravir.

I had a doc friend to prescribe it for me.

When I went to my yearly doc she knew I had a prescription for Ivermectin and read me the riot act.

She got the riot at back her and will never see me again.

Wow....nothing like being a little too little, too late.

Meanwhile....where do the families who lost hundreds of thousands of loved ones, due to these same states withholding safe and NOW proven effective treatment go, to get closure and restitution?

Have y’all seen this?? H/t Rusty0604 ....now they’re blaming WHISTLES for the sudden increase in heart problems ...

Referee Whistles May Be Cause Of Sudden Increase In Heart Problems: Experts

This is easily solved. Ban whistles. Except that won’t work, because even the dullest amongst us will come to think to themselves two things. Firstly, where are all the dead footballers from all the whistle-blowing which we’ve had for… well, forever? Heaven forbid they ask themselves the obvious question. What’s changed?

Secondly, when reading “all incidents are non-vaccine related,” they may wonder to themselves, “Isn’t it normal to require a post mortem to be conducted to determine what exactly the cause or causes may have been? Very odd that a journalist can determine such things.” But here we know with absolute certainty that it’s not vaccine-related. No mention of anything other than the vaccine. The problem with this has been highlighted back in 2003 with that god-awful singer Barbra Streisand, now famously known as the Streisand effect.

The Streisand effect is a phenomenon that occurs when an attempt to hide, remove, or censor information has the unintended consequence of increasing awareness of that information, often via the Internet. It is named after American singer Barbra Streisand, whose attempt to suppress the California Coastal Records Project’s photograph of her residence in Malibu, California, taken to document California coastal erosion, inadvertently drew greater attention to the photograph in 2003.

By mentioning that this is NOT to do with the vaccine is a bit like the old joke. Close your eyes and whatever you do, don’t think about a pink elephant.

Jerry Knirk must be high on something. There are numerous reports showing the effectiveness of IVM if it is used early.

Wow....nothing like being a little too little, too late.

For Covid, maybe, but I’ll bet it works on other viruses as well.

I bet it works on other viruses, too. As well as other diseases.

I was referring/thinking about those who’d been denied, then died :-(

This has been public knowledge for over a year. The CDC, FDA and media railed against it since there’s no money to be made with that medicine vs the clot shot.

She yelled at me that I was taking horse paste that would blind me!!!

I gave her a lecture on the uses of Ivermectin on preventing
onchocerciasis (river blindness) and demodex folliculorum (eye lash mites). Also Plaquenil (HCQ) which she writes prescriptions for her patients with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis is the drug that can cause blindness.

Guess she forgot I’m an Ophthalmologist! LOL.

I don’t understand that either. I’m just guessing but it could be that a pharmacist can ‘prescribe’ it. Here in MN, pharmacists can prescribe some kinds of oral contraceptives. Perhaps it’s like that vis-a-vis ivermectin in NH.
