~~Certification~~
Even if you are not working at the moment, you never know you could consult. If not certified you probably couldn’t be paid as a certified person.

When I was teaching there were times when only a certified teacher was acceptable even if not my field. I was a certified orchestra teacher but during achievement testing only certified personnel were allowed to be in the rooms. School districts had to find teachers or take extra days to meet the requirements.

It is not actually a recertification, rather a continuation of my License to practice in this State. My credentials are actually of a Federal Nature, and I have years left on that. but in order to practice, I have to maintain CEUs (continuing education units) and pay the state fee. That is easy enough to do. I can pay for a license in almost every state. I heard that California handle things differently, but I never researched that.

There is quite a bit of money to be earned these days, as the hospitals everywhere are capitalizing on this sham, but they cannot retain Workers while requiring poisonous injections. We almost all know what is going on. Still some must be developing an affinity for the exponentially increased pay scales and bonuses. The Overtime pay trough has been seemingly bottomless for about 2 years now.

It is tough for people with young families to go from 75-100K to 200-300K and just decline to continue going along with the charade. It is mostly free money for many. Manna from Heaven.
