Just tossing this out here if anyone has advice.

My field requires a Federal Credential as well as a State Credential. I am still good, for 2 1/2 years with the Federal, but the State License must be renewed in 2 1/2 months. That is the case for everyone here. I received my renewal notice in the mail today.

I have been thinking that I should just let it go, but this is not such an easy choice. I pretty much cannot work without the vaccine. I could relocate to Florida (possibly elsewhere) and that issue goes away.

I really do not want to surrender my license with a simple fade away. It is important to me to maintain it, but I am not working, so what is after all the point? Is it just vanity?

I will struggle with this for a couple of weeks or more.

Is this common in other states? Other professions? Is accepting this retirement stuff a common challenge for people? I certainly am not liking my predicament. I have so many options with my license preserved, as there are many different categories of work, all of which I am qualified for, as long as I can avoid the Vaccine mandate BS.

Keep the cred, you’ll know when you are done, and it doesn’t sound like you are. The covid bs is passing, stay in the game, you’ll need the money for gas.

If having your license keeps the door open for work opportunities in the future (assuming they get off that poisonous jab kick), and it doesn’t cost much, I’d say it’s worth renewing. Even if you don’t ever use it again, it’s a nice piece of security.

A long time ago, in another lifetime, I was a licensed electrician in the City of Cleveland. I used my license for side work a total of 2 times - otherwise, it was a useless decoration. But I renewed it when I still lived in the area, just in case I was let go by my regular employer.

And I take it the state license requires that the person renewing gets the shots?

If so, are there no exemptions?

What are the requirements in other states such as Florida?

What do travel medics do, pick the least restrictive states?

Radix, my two cents:

Get re-certified.
• That way you can work if you relocate.
• Also, TtT may turn this around somehow and it will allow you to work where you are now.
• Keep all your options open, because no one knows what the heck is going to happen next.
• Staying certified allows you some control in this situation: you control who you are, your credentials, your history.
•.You are Radix and you will never go out with a whimper! Be you. Don’t let them take a shred away. You retire on your terms, when you decide you are ready, in your full professional glory.

Again, just my inflated two cents... worth about one centime.

I was able to renew my RN license here in Washington state because I worked enough hrs in 2020...however I have not worked now since Nov of 2020 and I will have to renew as "inactive"....

I am not vaxxed and won't be...

but with our property taxes rising seemingly exponentially, I feel I would like to work some ..maybe when all "this" is over...
