“In my entire life, I have never heard beef called a “luxury meat” before. Have you?

The writer obviously isn’t older than 70. It was most certainly a “luxury meat” in the immediate post-WW II years. Having a steak dinner was a real and infrequent treat.

The Democrats loved the Great Depression so much they want a repeat.

Yes, but just a generation earlier than that, beef was considered low-brow poor peoples food. Chicken was what the ‘civilized’ upper classes ate! Remember the political slogan, “TWO CHICKENS IN EVERY POT!”? That was referring to the fact that chicken was considered a wealthy person’s food.................

---- "The writer obviously isn't older than 70. It was most certainly a “luxury meat” in the immediate post-WW II years. Having a steak dinner was a real and infrequent treat."

The article posted is not news, but opinion as part of a cottage industry of selling his books.

As to "luxury" beef, among our family "collectibles" are the WWII ration books, for that was a time when many more products than now we severely rationed. Beef was not only a luxury product but often simply unavailable for its price and scarcity in some areas. This was true in the UK as well.

There are now so many opinion sites that play the "infomercial" game of presenting opinion as new, the poster children being the idiotic and Lefty CNN and MSN. But smaller sites and on both sides of the political aisle do the same.

The author of this article and many of the same theme is the operator of his site, and seemingly the only author represented. He is prolific. His articles are also posted to the Conservative Firing Line. For some limited information about him, his Amazon page selling his many books is https://www.amazon.com/Michael-Snyder/e/B01DUPOJL2.

For a listing of the same articles as on his own site, one can look to: https://conservativefiringline.com/author/msnyder/ .

His career seems to be writing, publishing and promoting his work. Complete with books sales as with "donate" requests. So many voices, proclaiming economic collapse, have so much to sell.

The Snyders also operate The Economic Collapse Blog which sells his books. http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/

They tried YouTube: https://ng.youtubers.me/michael-and-meranda-snyder/youtube-estimated-earnings Didn't seem a successful monetized gambit.

Seems he ran for office in Idaho with a slogan, "Why I am different": https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxiWTcd1PltIJcnFIoH0k4A

Sounds like the Snyders run a set of businesses, since at least 2008, telling of collapse. Not as a mission, but as their cottage industry. Their clientele needs to think that "luxury beef" is a new thing, because that seems how they are able to buy their luxury beef.
