A team of adventurers, marine archaeologists and technicians located the wreck at the bottom of the Weddell Sea, east of the Antarctic Peninsula, using undersea drones...Mensun Bound, the expedition's exploration director and a marine archaeologist who has discovered many shipwrecks, said Endurance was the finest he had ever seen. Fascinating. Great pictures. Some people do such interesting and adventurous things with their lives!
The snowflakes of today need to read about these men, and get a clue of what real grit, determination, resolve, tenacity, toughness, and adversity are. Most today are very weak mentally.
Most of the photographs had to be left behind on the over-ice escape.
Would really like to see them.
Indeed. We all do. Incredible. And there was that "fourth man" they sensed in their trek. And Shackleton lost none of his exceptional men. https://tubitv.com/movies/326588/shackleton-s-captain

Shackelton has been immortalized in the Al Stewart song “Antarctica”.
“The hopeless quest of Shackelton
The dream-like death of Scott”
I had not seen the old photographs ‘til now. Unbelievable. I can’t imagine what it must have felt like.
My goodness, I just looked at the old photographs this morning.
Can you imagine anyone from today under such conditions? I date say half of them would be triggered if they had to watch the movie!
Totally agree. Their story of survival is mind-boggling.
My Dad was born in 1915, the events that occurred in his lifetime.
I hate to say it, but I’m glad he and Mom aren’t here to see what’s happened to their country.
Cold by the looks of it.😁
Had to be tough mentally.
Amazing they only lost one man.
Of course they found it...now that all of the polar ice has melted. A Leopard Seal, doing the back stroke in the now near-tropical waters, pointed the way to the wreck.
Thanks ApplegateRanch. Three about this find, one about an old Danish wreck.
I see RAV is covering the Endurance story shortly. It’s just after 12 noon now.
Here are some great undersea pictures from the official source:

Thank you. Very cool. Stunning what they all lived through.
