Re: transformers - Chyna can’t ship them fast enough. After the tornado outbreak in western TN/KY a few months ago, several power coops and distributers asked TVA to assess and rebuild several pole-top transformers for them as they could not acquire enough replacements fast enough. These are the smaller transformers seen on poles, ranging from 25-50 KW in size.
TVA was able to salvage and repair/rebuild about 2/3 of the ones turned over to them. These transformers had been on poles that were taken down by the storms, and had thus suffered some significant impact with the ground.
