Here’s a theory: Maybe the MiG29s had to go to Germany (US Air Base) to get jamming equipment retrofitted that fends off Rooskie AAA/anti-aircraft missiles. Then fly back to Ukraine to wipe out the caravan headed to Kyiv. Perhaps they could be converted to a Soviet-vintage Wild Weasel.
