"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.

I switched to the brave browser...it’s in beta, but I’m using it anyway.
I have no idea if it has algorithms to do what DDG is doing.
I know my wife uses Brave. I need to try it. I currently use Firefox, yeah I know.
With work it’s primarily Chrome because all the sheep love it. I have no idea why, it’s user hostile for old farts like me. I can say that being 57 but I’ve been in the software industry for 38 years and I’m STILL current.
It’s not easy. I’ll check it out!

Would investing in precious metals ETFs (those backed by physical holdings as opposed to mining/services) be as good as owning the physical metals themselves?

I don’t know what an ETF is, but are you talking about paper or like a debit card? Scottsdale Mint has a program or is connected to one where you buy gold or silver, but instead of giving you the actual metal, they give you a debit card with your dollar amount.
It looks interesting but I need to do some more research.

Though the brave browser is pretty good, I prefer Vivaldi. Vivaldi is owned by the people who developed OPERA back in the day.
I paid to use it and beta tested for them. You could run it from a floppy if needed.
They eventually made it free, then whacked it by going to chrome then selling to a China firm.

sorry i wasn’t clear - it was OPERA. The people who developed OPERA now own Vivaldi. Opera got sold to a China firm. Don’t know who owns it now.

That’s interesting. Three years ago or so I installed Opera on my work laptop. IT determined it was spyware. I got called into my manager’s office for that. He was the director of engineering.
