We recently moved from the Phoenix valley to coastal North Carolina and bought a house with over a half acre lot. We are tearing out old over grown landscaping and digging up invasive overgrown liriope, cutting back mountains of overgrown roses and other items. We hired a group to come in and dig out two big rows of overgrown forsythia shrub that was about eight foot tall and wide and 20 feet long. Dug up and root tilled gardens etc.
Heck of a project for a couple in our 70s.
Here is a rose I am adding that I really like. It is called Neil Diamond on Fortuniana root stock.

That IS quite the project!
