You are correct, except that the ball started rolling when the Anglican Church approved birth control in IIRC 1939. That made it “acceptable” and when The Pill came along, there was no backlash. On the contrary, society saw it as a green light to do whatever it wanted “so long as no one got hurt.” That has been proven to be a lie many times over. So many lives have been ruined by depravity of one form or another. Not to mention the lives lost to abortion.
It would be interesting to research when the term “coital addiction” was first used and made its way into the therapeutic dictionary.
