You appear to be ignorant about something called Ash Wednesday.

Hint: the Catholic Church predates American Evangelicalism by more-or-lrss 2,000 years. In other words, they were Christians *first* and therefore are not (contrary to say, Southern US Evangelical thought), presumptively heretical.

(See for example the Nicene Creed or Athanasian Creed...)

Imposition of ashes is an adiaphoron, neither right or wrong and spiritually neutral. The Gospel reading for Ash Wednesday, Matt 6:1-6 would seem to discourage that type of practice. I was the only one who didn’t get ashes @ my church. While I am open to explaining myself, no one asked why.

you have much to learn. Seek Almighty God for wisdom - not a church, a religion, a denomination, a man, a preacher, a teacher. Seek to know His truth and wisdom. If you are sincere, He will lead you to the truth. Praying for you, sincerely.P.S. your assumptions about me are incorrect. Please read my tagline. Future discussions can be through personal messages or I will not respond.
