Delaware officials say they are planning to send $300 in direct payments to taxpayers in the state.
News outlets reported Thursday that the payments are part of the state's plan for using a $1 billion budget surplus at a time when inflation is rising and gas prices also are high. Lawmakers said they will introduce legislation within a week. A vote could happen next month.
Officials say more than 600,000 Delaware residents are likely to receive these payments, which will cost $186.6 million.
They could suspend the gas tax, but they don’t want people to realize how greedy the government is.
Lowering taxes things like a better idea, if they are getting excess funds.
Heard this morning that the same TX advocacy group that sued Madison Cawthorn claiming he is an Insurrectionist to keep him off the ballot is now suing Marjorie Taylor Green for the same reason.
BTW Madison's case was thrown out by a federal judge.
A reminder of just WHO are the real troublemakers.....
I like to post this gentle reminder of the complete absurdity of the Jan 6th 'Insurrection' narrative from time to time pic.twitter.com/T3HjiVDiMG— Doggin (@RickyBeBack) March 24, 2022
Thanks, Jane.
A few weeks, some Republicans in Dover came up with a rebate idea, because of tremendous budget surplus we are enjoying. Originally, they were discussing $100/person.
Now, it is up to $300/person.
And still only 20% of the surplus.
And yes, it is an election year, so let’s throw the peons some cabbage!
