My favorite stone with white cabinets was always soapstone. It’s a matte finish, it’s the only product you can put a red hot pot on, and it’s very rich looking. Soft black with a translucent whitish vein running through it. However, it’s a pain in the neck. Very soft stone that scratches and chips very easily. It’s for those people who have a show kitchen that they never use. You can repair the scratches, but it’s a lot of maintenance. You also have to oil it regularly to keep it black. They’re quite elegant, but you’d have to give up cooking lol.

Where there’s one racoon there’s usually a whole family and more. Could be a mom. Personally I wouldn’t relocate a racoon, I’d just try blocking access. That’s just me.

I am kind of sorry I didn’t see these kettles when I got a new one a few months back. I didn’t think to search for cast iron.

The FT reports, according to four people briefed on the discussions, Russia is no longer requesting Ukraine be “denazified” and is prepared to let Kyiv join the European Union if it remains militarily non-aligned as part of ongoing ceasefire negotiations.
The draft ceasefire document does not contain any discussion of three of Russia’s initial core demands - “denazification”, “demilitarisation”, and legal protection for the Russian language in Ukraine - the people added.

We have to say we find this hard to believe and can only think that Ukraine must be ‘offering’ plenty in return - perhaps giving up The Donbas and allowing the land-bridge to Crimea to remain?
Never know what’s true, and even though Biden would be disappointed if there was an agreement, I’d be happy. We have enough problems domestically and don’t need the fallout from “sacrifice” for this war.
We wouldn’t mind if the raccoon stuck around, especially if she has babies. We used to feed one at the cabin and they were so much fun to watch.
I always worry if we relocate a critter if they will be able to find what they need. We’ve only moved a possum so far.
We’re going to try taking away all the food, and if we have to maybe start feeding it at the barn, to distract it from the cat and kittens.

Are you finding things missing at your grocery stores too? Aldi’s seems to be the worst one here, with a quarter to a third of their shelves empty each time I go. I never know what will be there.

The raccoons used to eat our cat’s food (from the outside) bowl.
We thought she was going through a lot of food, but, turns out, she had help. We caught them on our cameras. Kind of cute how they would sneak up to the bowl, look around, then reach with their little paw/hands ?? and grab kibble.
We don’t see many raccoons, any more, now that we don’t have the cat and cat food out.
