My favorite stone with white cabinets was always soapstone. It’s a matte finish, it’s the only product you can put a red hot pot on, and it’s very rich looking. Soft black with a translucent whitish vein running through it. However, it’s a pain in the neck. Very soft stone that scratches and chips very easily. It’s for those people who have a show kitchen that they never use. You can repair the scratches, but it’s a lot of maintenance. You also have to oil it regularly to keep it black. They’re quite elegant, but you’d have to give up cooking lol.

That sounds like the last countertop I should have. It would be damaged in no time at all.

All I’m finding is enameled cast-iron, is that what you meant?
