Has eating meat become unfairly demonized as bad for your health?
Study author, Dr. Wenpeng You, says humans have evolved and thrived over millions of years because of their significant consumption of meat.
"Looking only at correlations of meat consumption with people's health or life expectancy within a particular group, and or, a particular region or country, can lead to complex and misleading conclusions.
The researchers found that the consumption of energy from carbohydrate crops (grains and tubers) does not lead to greater life expectancy, and that total meat consumption correlates to greater life expectancy, independent of the competing effects of total calorie intake, economic affluence, urban advantages, and obesity.
"While detrimental effects of meat consumption on human health have been found in some studies in the past, the methods and findings in these studies are controversial and circumstantial," Dr. You says.
"Meat of small and large animals provided optimal nutrition to our ancestors who developed genetic, physiological, and morphological adaptations to eating meat products and we have inherited those adaptations," Professor Henneberg says.
But with the strong development of nutrition science and economic affluence, studies in some populations in developed countries have associated meat-free (vegetarian and vegan) diets with improved health.
"I think we need to understand that this may not contradict the beneficial effect of meat consumption," nutritionist on the study, Yanfei Ge says.
"Studies looking into the diets of wealthy, highly educated communities, are looking at people who have the purchasing power and the knowledge to select plant-based diets that access the full nutrients normally contained in meat. Essentially, they have replaced meat with all the same nutrition meat provides. "

Obviously because, if you are not eating meat what is the point of living?
I lost track of where we were. Red meat “shortening life” or not?
They are serious about reducing the global population to 500 million.
I guess the ruling class figures AI is mature enough to replace illegal aliens now ..
Lefties will never admit it. They’re girlie men. Girls don’t eat either.
We were designed to eat meat. It’s just that simple.
I was on low carb for 20 years. Lots of meat, cheese etc. My blood levels were good until the last year or so for some reason.
I switched to the Mediterranean Diet (Jesus diet as a friend calls it). Lost 13 pounds in 3 weeks. I’m no longer hungry all the time. I eat breakfast and am fine for hours. Highly recommend it!
Honestly, I’m more concerned with the “carb-phobia” that is so in vogue now. Grains “bad?” Better take it up with God, our “Bread of Life.”
There are countless Youtube videos showing how vegans’ health and appearance inevitably declines, the longer they stay on their wacky diet. It’s especially heartbreaking to see how their enforced veganism affects their pets and children — if they’re able to reproduce. Truly delusional. On the other hand, there are many video testimonies to the almost miraculous effects attributed to keto or carnivore diets, especially when combined with intermittent fasting.
Source for the Mediterranean?
Bacon wins again!
Most vegans’ motivation for their diets is based on more on “animal rights” than their health, which they see as an acceptable collateral damage.
They fail to notice that many animals treat each other more horribly than humans possibly could, before they eat them.
Protein makes you big and strong. Even a cave man knows that.
Case in point: Hitler was a vegetarian and died at 56. FDR was not and lived to 63.
Just make sure the grains you eat are non-GMO.
A finely cooked steak or brisket can’t be bad for your health, something that delicious can only be good for you.
I do that.
I also try, whenever possible, to eat pasture/grass-fed meat. There is a big difference.
But for a car wreck Owsley would have lived to 120
