My experience was awful too. Though I knew I could last a few days.
Being celiac, well I was resigned to starve lol for a few days. My day nurse, I think was a tad upset I wasn’t vaxxed, so she did little things that were a tad rude. Well, hahah, bish, I’m tougher than you. Like, she didn’t give me a menu, so I had no idea if they even had stuff for celiacs. I figured they might?? Nor did she give me a courtesy box with some lotion, toothbrush, chapstick. I would have murdered for chapstick. My nightnurse, on the 2nd night, found out, and was appalled, so she brought me a box. And a menu!
I stuck with cream of rice. Did you know the Great Wall of China was built using rice water?? Yeah, they knew how sticky it was hahahahahhahaha.
Cream of rice, a necessary evil. The first bowl was hot and mostly water and I felt like Oliver Twist. The next morning, I asked for butter and sugar and got brown sugar lol. It was so disgusting.
You know, growing up, my mom died young, and my dad married one of the meanest women on earth. She was actually the Wicked Witch of the West’s other sister, from the Southwest.
So.. if a cranky, bishy, somewhat passive/aggressive nurse thinks she is going to defeat me, ha, she doesn’t know me. I survived Stepmummy Dearest!!! Nurse Ratched has nothing on Stepmummy D!
I had been so sick, I forgot my phone and my reading glasses. So I had no way of calling my husband. And I couldn’t figure out how to call out on the hospital phone. Hello, China???
