The Massachusetts State Police said that when questioned, the man only said he was very interested in tigers.
Matthew Abraham, 24, allegedly climbed over a gate into the zoo at around 9 a.m., scaled several fences and ignored warning signs but was unable to gain access to the tiger enclosure, investigators said.

They played an interview with this guy this morning on WEEI.
He said he wanted to look into the eye of the tiger.
He sounded like he should be in a padded room in a straight jacket.
He will be back out on the street, off his meds real soon.
HUh? They should have gladly opened the cage for him. Why feed and jail an idiot whose running for the Darwin award?

Only Mass. would spend money on warning signs for tiger cages.

That’s just standard lawyer-proofing you see just about on everything, like the toaster with instructions to not operate it around water.
But wait - - - the zoo could reduce their monthly budget for feeding the tigers . . .
Should have left the guy alone. Some problems just sort of take care of themselves.
It was the Franklin Park Zoo. He was probably safer with the tigers inside the cage than outside in that part of the Hood. (I was born and raised in that neighborhood, so I can talk.)
They should have let him get in that way they wouldn’t have had to feed the tigers for a couple of days.
Another example of those types is the fool who tried making friends with the bears in Alaska. They munched him.
There was a movies with a similar plot.
Let him enter the tiger’s cage, and film it. It’ll go viral.

I cringe every time I see a movie or video anthropomorphizing dangerous animals. Even if that particular animal is “socialized” to hug someone, animals are inherently dangerous. It’s a terrible idea to give kids, especially, the idea that tigers, alligators and bears are just people with a different skin.
Thankfully, he didn’t get inside with the tigers or they’d be the ones killed.
Maybe he needed a body guard.
