Whatever dude. You’re not going to change my mind and regardless of the facts you won’t change yours. Thanks for the stimulating conversation. Good-Bye.

Yep, they already have the military. Started noticing the difference around 2013. It has only gotten worse, especially amoung he officers.

Strange, I live in Maine and none of that is around where I live. Where do you live? I doubt you live in Maine.

Maybe in Portland. But “real” Maine is still pretty rural, rugged, and cold.

Every state has their places.

No. I have read articles over the last two decades about psychological and other standards being lowered to allow a more diverse number of candidates to be accepted into police acadamies.

I mean seriously, you even have to question that? Just from watching how our police behave these days, I would say that a lowering of all standards and a lack of real training is why they’re so bad and why they turn against the people they’re supposed to protect.

It ain’t rocket science. LOL

“Maine is by far the most peaceful place I have ever lived.”

If it just wasn’t so cold up there and you didn’t have all that white stuff falling out of the sky and making a mess.....and its TOO COLD up there.

If the police and military turn on us, then we might as well just bend over and grab our ankles. Hopefully, we put an end to this nonsense in November.

I live in southern part of the state, away from the coast. Winters are miler than Southern Michigan (K’zoo, Battle Creek sort of latitude), and WAY milder than Milwaukee.

Maine is very liberal, and getting more so. “Vacationalnd” is drawing the wealthy liberals from NY, CT,RI, Mass. Violent crime is low now, property crime is not, and all crime is on the upswing.

Once my boss in SoCal commented — in a negative way — on the NRA sticker on my car. “So you’re one of those pistol-packin’ mamas.” The “tsk tsk tsk” was implied.

I replied, “No; I’m not. But we support the Second Amendment and donate to those causes because it’s important.”

Maybe I need to consider actually becoming a “pistol-packin’ mama” one of these days.

I’ve never been pro-force. I understand the police as a necessary evil, but the job is inherently bad, and the people who want that kind of job shouldn’t be trusted.

I support the police but it's hard when you see images like these from Canada. I would have quit my job rather than participate it that crackdown. Makes them look like NAZI Storm Troopers.

Dumping all those muzzies off in Lewiston didn't help.

The only function of police is to protect criminals from the population.

Try keeping law and order without an organized police force and you will have rule by psychopaths. Social taboos, cultural norms, religious constraints, and nice intentions mean absolutely nothing to a percentage of the population. Criminals will kill, destroy, and corrupt entire societies. You will, however, get the same situation when police forces are corrupted by power hungry politicians. Unfortunately, some extremely vile, demonic lunatics have gained power in our federal government, and they have no problem abusing the rights of people. The U.S. Department of Justice, the F.B.I., and other agencies have developed the same attitude as the criminal psychopath.

Politics is what is ruining good police forces. Mayors, politicians, and the ruling class have worked hard to coopt the police and turn them into their personal flunkies. Good men and women thus avoid police work while cowards, and dependent, amoral goons are left to enforce the law. Fixing this is not going to be easy, and I no longer believe it can be changed through elections and law.

We have laws now that should protect the people, but when those who are sworn to enforce those laws openly abuse the law laugh in our faces when we complain, there remains little civil recourse. The Founders of our nation would have long ago declared the government illegitimate, which it clearly has become, and those Founders would have also by now have gathered their water cans to engage in watering the “Tree of Liberty.”

We are a people softened by plentiful food, decent housing, affordable toys, and general comfort. I suspect that as a whole we will cower until the end when we one day wake up and notice that once beautiful tree is now dead. May God forgive us for allowing his beautiful gift to wither and die.
