Why are the police we revere doing the tyrants’ bidding?

Too many cops are choosing the side that uses and abuses them.

believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations. James Madison

Without a doubt, being a police officer is one of the most difficult and dangerous job on the planet. One has to admire those who take on the job. The American left has made its contempt of our police abundantly clear for several years now. Encouraging the BLM riots, excusing the damage done, decreeing no punishment for those who did billions of dollars in property destruction over the summer of 2020 was their coin of the realm. Lacking common sense and any skill at predicting the consequences of idiotic policies, they have doubled down on stupid as cities like NY, Chicago, DC, and LA rack up homicides committed by career criminals repeatedly let loose on an unsuspecting public.

On a daily basis innocent victims are attacked, injured or killed by violent perpetrators who have been released by cavalier lefty judges who have become self-appointed social justice warriors.

SNIP

So how do we explain the fact that in countries around the world, Australia, UK, US, France, Belgium, Austria, and Canada, the police, those who were not fired for refusing the vaccine, have taken the opportunity to act like tyranny’s handmaidens rather than protectors of the people, their essential charge, the reason they signed up for the job? In Canada, a few have sided with the truck drivers’ cause, but the rest seem to enjoy the opportunity to roust good, law-abiding, non-violent protesters.

“99.9% pull that “I’m your buddy” crap and they are all wicked liars just trying to fool the person into self incriminating. They are never your “buddy or friend” in those situations.”

Yep, been there many times. I sometimes have to chuckle out load at the feeble attempts to psychologically “outwit” me with their baiting.

Everyone is always considered guilty of “something” they just haven’t got caught yet. And they want to be the first to do it. Even rookies consider themselves as “detectives”.

The personal values of honor and compassion regarding fellow citizens have eroded in all walks of life.

If tyrants can get their police and military to kill me, there being no consequence, they win.

The police are and always will be armed agents of the state.

I think you are right. I was talking to my brother’s neighbor, who is a deputy sheriff. He said that his lines in the sand would be gun confiscation and vaccine enforcement. But there are blue cities here where I am sure the police would do those things,

Why are the police we revere doing the tyrants’ bidding?

The idea that when the power drunk take over they will be part of the ruling class is enticing.

The Police Battalions of the SS were indeed ordinary men, reservists who were middle aged and gave little if any thought to the immorality of what they were doing.

So much so that these otherwise ordinary men often refereed to what they were doing as a ‘’jundenjag'', a ''jew hunt'', as if their victims were ducks or rabbits.

It doesn't say who they are there to protect and serve...

“The idea that when the power drunk take over they will be part of the ruling class is enticing.”

Yep, they are now and will be a privileged class and status. But what they do not have is the vision to understand that it will only be temporary. It will not be long before an authoritarian Hitler style SS will be formed to police the police without mercy. Then they will be in the exact same boat as the civilians. If they do not nip it in the bud before the current practices go much further they themselves will be next. They are not as secure in their status as they think they are. This attitude and confidence is false, it is all going to backfire on them. They are stepping on their own toes with this capitulation and loyalty to the corrupt state.

It is clear that they reference the government and its tyrants.

Exactly. They do the bidding of their paymasters.

All it takes is for the police to refuse to obey unlawful orders and it would all end in the blink of an eye.

Accept the fact that they enjoy cracking heads. Power is addictive. And when their government dehumanizes these protesters as domestic terrorists with unacceptable beliefs it’s easy to rationalize crushing them. Besides. The people don’t sign their paychecks or maintain their pensions. We pay for it sure, but we don’t sign the checks.

There’s a definite military appearance to them.

Not accidental.

Precisely! Those are the kind of people they want and have been hiring.

Most people who work for the government cherish their job security, benefits and pensions.

After awhile, they view what’s good for the government is good for them.

This makes them very ‘pliable’. And quite frankly, dangerous to a free society.

“All it takes is for the police to refuse to obey unlawful orders and it would all end in the blink of an eye.”

Absolutely... Sure would. But this takes intestinal fortitude and a sense of morality.

Aiding and abetting immoral corruption is a crime in it’s self.

Because the cops you used to revere are not the cops of 20 years ago.
***The cops of 20 years ago were not the cops of 20 years ago. You had some kind of image in your mind of what they were 20 years ago, and 20 years ago that image was false. Now that facade is being pulled off, those of us who knew what was behind it were right.

Where are the jackbootlickers now? They used to be so prevalent on FR.

“Just following orders” puts one on a very slippery slope.

It won’t be long before the orders become increasingly harsh.
