Or, it could be that the name paddy is an Americanized version of an Irish name (Padric, Patrick) and being famous drinkers, the van used to tote them away was called a paddy wagon.
This would be offensive to Irishmen, or libs intent upon making a big deal out of nothing.

Got it. Mea culpa.
Tommy Robinson’s channel is very good with news about Ottawa and protests elsewhere.
BTW I don’t think anyone is offended by paddywagons. As long as we’re not being stuffed into them. Irish blood or not...
OhDear Linda dude! There is so much for people to be authentically insulted by, I wouldn’t worry about if what you say “might” offend someone. I rather like the term “paddy wagon” as I had a great uncle who spent a lot of time in the back of one or a few dozen, on his way to the hoozgow. Uncle Bill had some great stories!
(or maybe it’s just that my offfense-oh!-meter is so off, I don’t even care when people call me the Christmas Nazi, or any other kind of Nazi. I’m almost pure German, and it doesn’t bother me.)
actually, we long-gened Irish from NY don’t mind ‘paddy-wagon’..just don’t wanna see one near us on St Paddy’s day! -
