Rush Limbaugh, the monumentally influential media icon who transformed talk radio and politics in his decades behind the microphone, helping shape the modern-day Republican Party, died Wednesday morning at the age of 70 after a battle with lung cancer, his family announced.
Limbaugh's wife, Kathryn, made the announcement on his radio show. "Losing a loved one is terribly difficult, even more so when that loved one is larger than life," she said. "Rush will forever be the greatest of all time."

“Callers get maybe 15 seconds … Rush had dialogue”
In talking with some people for minutes Rush’s warmth and love for people shone through. And many of the people were SO INTERESTING.
The incredible acts of charity, hidden, he did for so many people.
When hosts rush people off the air, you get the idea they’re not too interested in the peasants and only want to hear their own voices.
Ditto.
All you need to know about Buck Sexton was he was a filling for Rush for awhile and Rush got rid of him. Clay was a sports guy. Together, they are milqutoast and boring. Tried to listen to them, but it seems their information is Captain Obvious. Poor poor choice to take up the EIB baton, but to be fare, Rush didn5bother to train a replacement, which although impossible to replace, he effectively killed his own network. I haven listened to talk radio for a year. I was a 25 year listener. RIP Rush and thanks for what you did.
Greatly missed.
I was missing him much today. Didn’t realize it has been a year. That must explain it. We love you Rush. What a pleasure all those years. Hi Catherine!
A part of America, too.
There will never be another Rush Limbaugh. I truly loved the guy. Rest In peace, Dear Rush.
what a dark day that was. the void will never be filled because he was one of a kind, he was RUSH. strength and support for his widow and brother and family...which includes all of us.
I loved how Rush was the Happy Warrior, killing the left with humor and ridicule.
First time I heard the show he sat on a bran muffin. The whole show was so perfect I thought it had to be some sort of special. To my surprise it was on 3 hours every day.
Ditto
He is so missed.
When I hear the EIB Network theme song by Chrissy Hyde, my heart physically hurts and I cannot listen to the first few moments of the Buck Sexton Show as to not hear Rush’s voice is so painful.
I loved Rush so much.
I listen to Dan Bongino.
He is a good guy and has seen a lot. He is so respectful but a little belligerent when it comes to anyone’s bullsh!t and has NO fear on calling anyone out.
He is the guy on the playground you would want to be friends with.
Does anyone know what happened on Monday? I missed the first few minutes but a family member of his was involved in a car accident and he was quite distraught. I think someone was killed in the car crash.
On another channel there is Dennis Prager but he's like listening to a boring history teacher. Charlie Kirk has an hour in the Prager time slot and he's pretty good.
We miss you Maha Rushie (〒﹏〒)
I truly miss him.
Miss him....Always looked forward to Open Line Friday....I hardly listen to talk radio these days except for Snerdly if I’m driving.....
I truly miss him.
