I first heard about FreeRepublic from a link on Drudge Report back in the Clinton days. For years I regularly checked Drudge every day.That is how I found FR as well. Drudge had a link called Whitewater that led to FR. I stopped looking at Drudge's site shortly after. All the stories Drudge linked to were already on FR.
I first heard about Drudge while listening to Rush. Drudge was the only person covering the rumors of Clinton & Lewinsky at the time. That was back when Drudge was a real newshound.
