“he’s literally BLINDED by his idealism to the point that he’s enabling Democrats, and it pisses me off.”
He is just one of the many... Look at how many here on our side supported the elimination of Net Neutrality in the spirit of “private business rights”, and pure hate for everything Obama did without any critical thought. Well this was a huge mistake that handed the leftist tech companies the almost unchecked power to do what they are doing right now. So it was our own selves long before it was Rand Paul.
We grossly supported the wrong decision in the first place that created the whole situation. Now we blame others for not being able to fix what WE allowed to happen? It is OUR fault, no one would heed the writing on the wall when we should have. A few did, the others refused to listen and understand the true cause and effect. When in reality it was one of the few things Obama actually got right even if it was by accident.
We’re pretty much on the same page. Back then, we were weren’t being censored, but I do remember people here (maybe you included) saying “Watch out, when you give the Left that much power, they will use it”, but no, we just trotted along, oblivious to what could (and ultimately did) happen to us.
Rand upsets me because he actually is a conservative and with us on most things (although he was wacky again last week by actually believing the State Department description of President Al Sisi of Egypt as some kind of tyrant), but in general he’s far better than the RINOs.
But Rand really needs to understand that this is a DEATH STRUGGLE we’re now in. The time to implement libertarian ideals is not now, not until the Left is defeated, and unlike RINOs, he’s smart enough to know that...but doesn’t act that way when we need him to.
