We’re pretty much on the same page. Back then, we were weren’t being censored, but I do remember people here (maybe you included) saying “Watch out, when you give the Left that much power, they will use it”, but no, we just trotted along, oblivious to what could (and ultimately did) happen to us.
Rand upsets me because he actually is a conservative and with us on most things (although he was wacky again last week by actually believing the State Department description of President Al Sisi of Egypt as some kind of tyrant), but in general he’s far better than the RINOs.
But Rand really needs to understand that this is a DEATH STRUGGLE we’re now in. The time to implement libertarian ideals is not now, not until the Left is defeated, and unlike RINOs, he’s smart enough to know that...but doesn’t act that way when we need him to.
I understand and agree, we are down to the wire and something needs to be done. But consider this, Rand is only echoing what most conservative capitalists spout. He would get just as much or more criticism if he did not support “business rights” in all forms.
Much of this comes from the ignorance of the conservative base it’s self. “Corporatism” is nowhere near the same concept as the free market Capitalism we strongly support. But in this time honored fight for Capitalism we are indirectly supporting and helping fight for Corporatism.
The two concepts need to be recognized and treated as two totally different things. Corporatism is about as anti-free market Capitalism as it can get. It is the opposite. It is territorial and locks out the free market concept.
