Even better -- did you get to visit the old arena in Lake Placid? The new(er) one was built for the 1980 Winter Olympics, but many of the hockey games in the preliminary round were played in the old rink that still stands next door. The old one was built for the 1932 Olympics.
1980 was probably the last real small-town Olympic games you'll ever see.
