I assume these are restaurants that have continuously operated under the same name.
The tavern at the Beekman Arms Restaurant in Rhinebeck NY has been in business at the current location under various names since 1766.
The ‘76 House in Tappan, NY has been operating continuously under various names since 1754.
The White Horse Tavern in Newport RI has operated continuously under the same name at the same location since 1673.
Fraunces Tavern in NYC has operated continuously under the same name at the same location since 1762.
In fact, There are many continuously operated restaurants in New England, NY, NJ, and PA that predate the oldest restaurant on the list (1840)
