It was suggested early on that a budesonide inhaler, e.g. Rhinecort, was a weapon in the arsenal to fight covid, so naturally, the FDA pulled the inhaler from the OTC market in April 2021 after having approved it in October 2001.

Thankfully, it’s still available to nebulize for those of us with lung issues. It was the closest my doctor prescribed to me as a “cure” if he knew.
But my dh had to suggest it. The doc wanted me on a dose of steroids but I said no.
You know what else?? My doctor wanted to take my pulse ox again- it was low when I first went in.
Now, could be my lungs, more than likely the mask... but the doctor tried to put the pulse ox thing on my finger and couldn’t figure it out!!! I was like, “Oh it’s backwards.” 🤦🏻‍♀️👀
Any doc with head in a normal place should check your SPO2 at two different times. I’ve explained to lots of people that might be having breathing issues that the bit of exercise one gets just walking into the clinic probably boosts the OXY a bit. Then sitting relaxed for a time frequently lets it drop and it’s that “relaxed” level that can indicate a problem. But keep track of it yourself. An oximeter is not expensive and super easy to use as well as indicating coming issues.
Reminds me of the one time the tech was trying to use the oxemeter (sp) and no matter what she tried the numbers would be very low, too low. I looked at the thing and said "the battery is low". So she made up some numbers and put them in my chart. That's when I started to notice the medical profession was mostly BS.
