My view of this too often quoted "historian" are in parallel with yours. The historical truths which may be cited from many sources must be cluttered up by the overt lies of the "official" narrative.

If you boil down what Beschloss is often saying it’s that ‘the people can’t be trusted’ ... We - the people - are too stupid to see that ‘our elites’ should be making the decisions. Too stupid to see Trump as THEY see him.

And that being ‘popular’ is the same as being ‘Hitler’.

“Hitler fooled the people - therefore anyone popular is Hitler.” That’s nuts.

Well Beschloss, George Washington was popular - the people loved him. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Beschloss does NOT trust ‘the people’ - or believe in our ‘experiment’ where the people rule themselves. In short Beschloss is a disgrace to every concept that upholds democracy. A word he wrongly uses to mean ‘power of white liberal ‘elites’ and their various victim-group pets’
