I think it’s more likely that the Founding Fathers of your great Republic put on paper what God bestowed to every human on earth. Canada was very late in putting those same God-given rights on paper, and expressed them slightly differently, but I believe the rights exist everywhere and can’t be taken away by governments, except by force.
