I am on a blood thinner since a stent surgery about 9 months ago. Suspicion is rising in me, however, because there are so many herbs, foods, natural supplements, and now effective low cost drugs that also seem to thin the blood -
Am I nuts to suppose that it might make more sense to take the latter, and not the very expensive big name “pharmaceuticals”.
Just wondering about the now failing state of “modern medicine”.
In it he provides all sorts of home remedies and explanation of health problems common of that time.
I looked at it again a few years ago and parts of it seemed very naive and truthfully a bit ignorant. This of course was well after my studies of modern Health Care. As well, there are a lot of good things to say about that work.
These days we are all witnessing the inadequacies of medical practice. With Big Pharma capitalizing on the Sky is falling crap being spread by the media, the endorsement of these absolutely useless masks, and the killer vaccines that absolutely do not qualify as vaccines except for the bad guys going all ‘Orwellian’ on us and changing the language into their Newspeak.
I do not know if it is still available, but I would be willing to send it to anyone requesting my well read yellowed old copy.
I have both and they supplement one another with lots of good info.

You’re not nuts to be suspicious. If your only issue is the stent(s) you shouldn’t have to be on the weird stuff for life. Depending on your actual body size an aspirin a day (80 or 325) might be enough. Keep notes on yourself, how you feel, blood pressure if you can, watch for changes, and question your regular quack.

Well if you are nuts, then so am I. When I first saw that quercetin was contraindicated for those who were on blood thinners, I said to myself, shouldn't that read the opposite way - blood thinners are contraindicated in those who are on quercetin? That's just how I automatically think - I don't trust Big Pharma at all, and never have.
It also ticks me off when I read articles that lump food supplements like quercetin in with "OTC drugs". It is not a drug! It is an antioxidant/flavonoid plant pigment, and is found in many fruits and vegetables. Let your medicine be your food, as someone famous once said. :) (Yeah, that same guy whose oath is ignored today, who also said "First do no harm.")
There are many food and drug interactions. Some foods increase the impact of the drug. Some interfere with the drug. You may google food drug interactions and the name of your drug. In addition, you need to talk to your pharmacist. They are pretty well versed with these interactions.
BTW I just googled blood thinners and herbs and got the following herbs that interact with blood thinners: 1. Turmeric · 2. Ginger · 3. Cayenne peppers · 4. Vitamin E · 5. Garlic · 6. Cassia cinnamon · 7. Ginkgo biloba · 8. Grape seed extract.
Talk with your pharmacist.
