Many of the EV car co’s are moving towards solid state batteries that uses little to no lithium and are fast charging and 100% recylable. A company called Quantam space uses a lithium free battery and claims theirs will charge in 8-12 minutes and will have a 700-750 mile range. It will be out in 3-4 years

The free market will prevail.

Lithium is not all that abundant. We will likely run out completely world wide long before all the lithium powered devices need to eliminate IC engines are produced.

I think the real tech of the future will be those that efficiently recycle the lithium out of older replaced or junked batteries.
