The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.
One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.
Challenging but great quote today, from a fairly frequent author with a funny name.

Pretty impressive!!!!!!
Sound advice. First word plus author’s first name make for an easy solution.
That seems to be the best way to solve this. Did not know the author’s last name.

You’re talking about me too....
I often wonder, how many people try solving this every day? Surely, it’s got to be more than the few of us who post opinions.
I normally save it for my morning coffee, but sometimes I get up really early, stay up for awhile, and then go back to bed. It's when you post during these hours that I post early.

I’m up by 3:30-4:00 every day, so it’s among the first things I do. As long as I have my faculties, I’ll continue.
Lonesome in Massachussets; has been an enormous help for me, as he covers the weekends now, and frankly I like his quotes, because they’re not coming from the Arkansas Gazette.
We’ve got around 75-80 people on our ping list, I think.
I think too, the sense of humor in this group is unmatched anywhere. Just about all of us were and probably still are despondent on the results of the 2020 election. We all know who won, and some people dropped off the ping list because they were too depressed to have a little fun.
I almost stopped the forum too, but thought it might the last little place to get away from the negative press we hear everyday on Trump.
Anyway, I digress. Thank you for your posts.

If you want on or off the daily cryptogram ping list reply to this post and state your intention: ON or OFF.
I’ve recently started doing them each day — probably takes me a lot longer than others — but I have distractions — 2 cats, 2 grand-kids(homeschooling) & hubby working from home.
It’s your little safe place...every day.
I do them on most days. I enjoy the mental wake up. I am working from home so I try to do them before I start my daily tasks. Hard to time myself because I do have distractions. I am retiring soon, then I may have time to post.
I think you are spot on. I read everyday and solve almost everyday but rarely post for the same reasons you just stated.
Me too. I do the puzzle every day but not always first thing in the morning. Sometimes life gets in the way. I probably don’t say *thanks* often enough. So ... THANKS!!! Cryptograms are highly anticipated.
