Kind of a strange story.

A person quoted in the article said, 'A little 3-pound monkey doesn't scare me, but why are they so concerned about it is what concerns me,'

I guess they quarantine the little guys for good reasons :-)

What isn't specified is the purpose for which the monkeys were sent here and intended in the first place.

At least all we've had to deal with here in Maryland are renegade giraffes...

I hope they weren’t being tortured/zapped into fear, like FRAUDci’s previous monkeys 😩

Weren’t they zebras that escaped?

Maryland has a huge NIH Primate Center between NIH and Fort Detrick.
Tucked well away in the country side. Traveled along the two lane country road for quite a ways without seeing buildings or even an entry point. Well maintained white board farm type fencing...upon which on two occassions a dozen or so buzzards were perched...as though waiting. Never seen so many in one spot just waiting.

With the mention of the monkeys being on the way to a CDC approved facility, it’s possible that was/is the destination. And who has ties to NIH?

Just sayin’

Around 2005, I worked briefly with a guy who’d had work in the 1990s in the Fairfax/Arlington area. He’d stop each morning at a donut shop and pick-up a coffee. Across the street was some big huge ultra-modern office building. One day, he stopped, and the building was gone. So he asked the coffee shop lady....what happened?

The previous week, she showed up and across the street...some guy shows up early and there’s all kinds of action going on. Someone comes over to get some coffee, and the jest of this...is that some lab monkeys got loose over the weekend in the building. They got out of the controlled area. By noon, some bigwigs had arrived. The next day...demolition crews have arrived, and within 3 days...had taken down the whole building. Nothing was left.

No news report....nothing. Whatever they had in that lab...was toxic enough to worry people and the building could never be used again. What happened to the monkeys that got loose? Probably euthanized.
