Expanding it to 1970-74 is reasonable — even all the way back to 1965. What I’m finding is that I hear fewer songs from that era — probably due to demographic changes.

Expanding it to 1970-74 is reasonable — even all the way back to 1965. What I’m finding is that I hear fewer songs from that era — probably due to demographic changes. That is sadly true. The time is coming, and probably soon, when hearing Elvis, or the Temptations, or the Carpenters playing will be like it was in the 60's and 70's for us to hear Al Jolson or Kate Smith. The Beatles got new life recently because of Peter Jackson's documentary, but that's an exception.
