Thich Nhat Hanh, the revered Zen Buddhist monk who helped pioneer the concept of mindfulness in the West and socially engaged Buddhism in the East, has died. He was 95.
The death was confirmed by a monk at Tu Hieu Pagoda in Hue, Vietnam who said that Nhat Hanh, known as Thay to his followers, died at midnight on Saturday. The monk declined to be named because he is not authorized to speak to media.
A post on Nhat Hanh’s verified Twitter page attributed to The International Plum Village Community of Engaged Buddhism also confirmed the news, saying, “We invite our beloved global spiritual family to take a few moments to be still, to come back to our mindful breathing, as we together hold Thay in our hearts.”

Christ died on the Cross as a Perfect Sacrifice for humanity towards God the Father to pay the price of sin, even original sin.
Without faith in what He provided at the Cross, there is no salvation.
He didn’t die to provide a different spiritual frequency.
God the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in their human spirit. He only indwells where there is a clean perfection such as the regenerate human spirit only provided by God to the believer through faith in Christ.
If one is being guided spiritually to grow independent of faith in what Christ provided on the Cross, such as with Buddhism, then it is not God guiding , but a false spirit.
Wow, check out the level of religious bigotry in these comments. Simply disgusting and pathetic.
So you are saying if someone is not saved by saying the magic words that God is not within them? And that once they say the magic words, the Holy Spirt someone enters into them? Where does it enter, through their toes or maybe their eyes?
You aren’t saved by ‘magic words’. One is saved by faith and faith alone.
Same word for faith is used for believe, PISTIS.
After you have faith in what Christ provided at the Cross, the output from your spirit thru the soul is manifest in the spoken word, while remaining in fellowship with Him.
Simply saying the words without faith in Him is good for nothingness.
I’ll have to look up his book, “Living Buddha, Living Christ.” I’ve seen it for sale but I dismissed at as probably a New Agey type book. On second thought, I assume because of the author that the book has depth to it and maybe it can help an outsider understand Buddhism and help one understand how Buddhists see Christ. I do think that Buddhism and Christianity are incompatible but it is good to understand how others see things, whether we agree with it or find it mistaken. We often live in a bubble and assume we know how others think.
This is why Jesus shared much with His disciples and told them not to share it. As if you give your pearls to swine, they will turn and devour you.
Thay was also a professor of comparative religion at Princeton and at Columbia University in the 1960’s.
He had gained fluency in French, Classical Chinese, Sanskrit, Pali and English, in addition to his native Vietnamese.
Having died myself and crossed over into Heaven, I assure you that Jesus is my Savior not because He died on the cross.
I would much rather die than be here on earth in this cesspool.
Jesus is my Savior as He lowered himself to our level and was not in the flesh to teach us how to grow spiritually. This is why the scripture in 1 John 4 is so powerful.
“This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.”
My apologies as spellchecker inserted “not”

If you ever meet your Zen buddy again he will say to you: “He tried to tell you!”
Continuing the thought from Luke 16 . . .
“Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead” (Luke 16:29-31).
“He wrote some of the best books on religious thought I have read.”
I’ve got some on the shelf downstairs.
>>>Having died myself and crossed over into Heaven, I assure you that Jesus is my Savior not because He died on the cross.<<<
Sorry bud, but “without shedding of blood is NO remission.”
Jesus paid fully for your sins, but you have chosen to pay for your own sins by an eternity in Hell. You’ll experience everything Jesus Christ experienced for you on the cross, without any end in sight.
Seven grains of sand in your hand represents a lifetime of seventy years . . . all the deserts combined will tell of the time you will spend in Hell, only to have it repeat again and again every time you make it to the last single grain.
I am sorry.
The mystics of ALL religions - who study the nature of reality rather than apologetic dogma - ALL say the same thing - we are Spirit, we are eternal, Spirit is Love and God is within all of us. God made man in his Image. In Him, we live and move and have our being. If you make your bed in Hell, God is there with you. The Kingdom of Heaven is within you. I and my Father are one.

People do speak to God when they are being saved, but that is not what saves anyone. Sure, we confess (agree) with Him as to our need to be saved, but it is with the heart (or the bowels, or the innermost part of our very being) that we believe that He is able to save us.
“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed” (Romans 10:8-11).
It isn’t about the ‘frequencies” we are aware of and can tune into...it is about the road we travel and our Lord says there are two; The broad road that leads to destruction and the narrow way that leads to everlasting life.
Christ said “I am the door”. His is the only “frequency” that teaches us anything that is worth knowing.
Phillipians 4:7-9”7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirableâ if anything is excellent or praiseworthyâ think on these things. 9Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me, put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.⦔
There’s your frequency.
That said, some folks have varied gifts in the Spirit as the Lord will give them for the building up of His church.

I think Christ seeks to bring many to “HIS” frequency!
RIP.
I would much rather die than be here on earth in this cesspool."
So why would God allow you to enter Heaven, His abode, without removing your sins through faith in Christ and what He provided at the Cross? Without removal of your sins, you would simply make Heaven a cesspool.
I know what you were trying to say, but Heaven will never be a cesspool as God will not grant access to it by anyone tainted by sin. He loves His Son and honors His Sons sacrifice too much for anything short of perfect, undefiled holiness to enter in.
