York Regional Police are looking for help tracking down an alleged thief accused of stealing an $8,000 guitar from a Richmond Hill music store β by concealing the instrument in his pants.
On Dec. 30, police were called to the music store in the area of Leslie St. and Elgin Mills Rd., E.
Police learned that on Dec. 20 a male suspect entered the music store and allegedly stole a guitar by stuffing it down his pants.
The guitar stolen was a Gibson Custom Shop 60th Anniversary β59 Les Paul Standard electric guitar.
The suspect who stole the guitar fled in a vehicle driven by a second suspect.
The first suspect is described as a white male in his 20s and wearing extremely large, baggy pants, a black coat and a Toronto Maple Leafs baseball hat.
A second suspect is described as being between 20 and 30 years of age and wearing a black mask, a black hoodie and sunglasses
The investigation is ongoing.

Countdown to Ecstasy?
It’s all over my head. I can see wanting a special guitar owned by an iconic guitarist. But afaic the old ones are not one bit better than the new ones. Add in the terrible tuning stability of a Les Paul and the fascination passes me by.
The tune-o-matic Bridge is garbage. They are heavy too. But they sound great.
All my guitars have Floyd Rose on them so I’m used to tuning instability.
