About 6 years ago, we got a cast iron Dutch oven at Salvation Army for $5. It was covered in rust, inside and out, and looked like garbage.

We took it home and scrubbed it clean the rubbed it with oil and seasoned it.

It cooks great and is used often!........In fact we had two Cornish Game Hens in it yesterday!............

I also once got a rusty old Dutch oven for $5, at a thrift store in the 70s. Steel wool got the rust out, and I reseasoned it and used it for years. I don’t know what ever became of it, probably lost during a move at some point.

At least I still have my old skillet, coming up on 50 years.

I’ve had pizza cooked in a dutch oven on a camping trip once. Very tasty.
