Wish we had more threads on obscure songs from the past. Why can't we have more of them?
I was just listening to to the Carpenters "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft" and it blew my mind.
Karen was channeling David Bowie in the most peculiar way.
I so wish I was married to her back then, I would have given her more protein pills and kept her with us a bit longer.

That was a cover of a song by Klaatu, a Canadian band, that at the time some thought was actually The Beatles.

Yes it was and Capitol Records did nothing to dispel those rumors while rocketing their record sales.
Another great Klaatu song was Sub-Rosa Subway.
Very Beatlesque.
