If you are familiar with Old Town, Alien Donuts has closed. Hurts to lose a landmark store. The town loses more and more character when places like this disappear.
I’ve only been in Phoenix for 3 years, and am sometimes thrown off by fake mid-century modern signage. I am not sure where Old Towne is, though I have found older places on 7th Street (though its queer near Indian School Road) and Sunnyslope (though Little Miss Bar-B-Q was a fake Mid Century Modern place). In Tempe I came upon a 7-11 whose signage and store style goes back to the mid-60s. Nothing special to eat there, but still interesting if you want to film a ‘60s movie with an authentic looking store in the background. East Camelback and Indian School are a mixed lot.
