I have not spoken/texted her (or my 81 y.o. dad) since before Thanksgiving. They hated Trump, yet could not tell me why. I have written them off. Every time we talked, Trump was bad, evil, wanted to end the world, fill in the blank.

I gave up and blocked them. I like positive energy and they do not have it.
