I have had VA disability for tinnitus for over 45 years and tinnitus for over 55 years after being shot at with an RPG. Do RPG’s cause covid or the common cold or something?/s

I want to know when you get a big wiener becomes a symptom. After all they are inventing symptoms daily.

And here I attributed that that ringing in my ear to the Black Sabbath-Blue Oyster Cult concert I went to back in 1980.

I have no idea, so I guess not.
The only sound that is really annoying is the high pitched because as you surely know, the burglar alarm will squeal for an instant before the big siren goes off, the smoke detector and several other electronic devices make similar sounds.
I just cup my hands over my ears so that I get the same effect as a deer or horse on the alert and if the volume does not increase, I know it is in my head and not real.

I have had very loud tinnitus and deafness in my left ear, and minor tinnitus but decent hearing in my left ear, for over thirty years. I deal with it pretty well, but I can understand why some people get depressed (even suicidal) from the unrelenting noise. I always thought my wife would not cope with it well at all, because of her personality.
We both got covid in Dec 2020. Lately she's had bouts of mild tinnitus. If it continues, I guess I will find out how she copes.

You’ve been playing in rock bands since high school into the present day? Sounds familiar!
Add to that the power tools, shooting and being a DJ for about a decade and Covid couldn’t make a dent in what I’ve already done to my ears.
For the last 20 years I’ve been very careful, use ear protection when at live concerts and custom moulded in-ears when playing.

Tinnitus is a way of life here. So I don’t expect to learn from that. Still no antibodies so never got covid — yet !

You got a VA disability for one RPG?

Yup that will do it. I also was in bands through my life and have Tinnitus. Don’t know if it’s the combination of the loud amps and my drinking habits. I don’t have it as bad as some, so I’ve learned to ignore it except when going to bed.

Tinnitus increased greatly. I guess you never heard one. Also operated heavy equipment without mufflers and hit a land mine and blew up dozer, lots of artillery, claymores and other noise of war.

Tinnitus is my constant companion. It never leaves me. It’s always there. From the time I wake up to the time I fall asleep, it’s there. You r dog may leave you, your friends desert you, your spouse run off with someone they met on the Interwebz , but Tinnitus is faithful and true and will never leave you alone..........................

After I took a dose of Vioxx back in 2000 I’ve had loud Tinnitus ever since. Doctor told me I’d just have to live with it. It drives some people to suicide.
