I understand your anger. My sisters both have had the clot shot, my dad and his wife (she’s not doing well since hers). My sisters’ husbands have. And these are good people, good Christians, good Conservatives who I just don’t know. They’ve had their boosters and my sister who works for the pediatrician has had her 3rd booster.
I decided to forgive them. I may be going to some funerals this year, I don’t know. So, I decided that forgiving them and loving them was better for me.
I’m going to post this separately, but did you see this? It was on Citizen Free Press. Not very long and the doctors are interesting. They suggest staying away from the weird stuff and focusing on the stuff that people can understand when trying to explain to people.

That kind of snow sounds like the storms we would get in North Carolina where I grew up. The snow topped with a crust of ice…that’s the stuff that snaps power lines. We were stuck without power for a week after one of those storms. This was before Costco and before everyone had portable generators. We were hauling buckets of water from the pond up to the barn to water the horses because the well pump was electric. Ugh! Then it would melt in the afternoon and refreeze overnight. I feel for ya….that wet snow is heavy and hard to shovel.
That’s just simply gorgeous! Wow, what a view! I love that Devil’s Thumb.
Thanks for the lovely 2 min break :)

I do try to contain my rage, but humor does seem to be my best outlet. Maybe I am not a funny guy at all, but I try.

That’s the most important thing... is to try. And if you think you are funny, then be funny and laugh! It’s good for your soul.

I went to another funeral in early 2018. Very liberal church and the pastor got up and asked us to pray to our higher powers, whoever or whatever that may be... and I said, rather loudly, “Mine’s Bozo the Clown” to which I heard (to great satisfaction) numerous snickers around me.
I went through exactly what you used to after the ice storm of 2008. I reckon it was a once in 150 year storm because my oldest oak tree got split in two. This thing was HUGE.
We got water from the vernal pools in our woods. Out for seven days and the temps never got above 20F all week. I went through a full cord of wood that week. I always keep my chimney clean so I had no issue unlike others. There were lots of chimney fires during that time.

Oh, the best part of that ice storm? Me and my wife bailing water for 8 hours the night of the storm. I was lugging huge trash barrels full of water up the outside basement stairs and dumping it every 20 minutes. I still have no idea how I even accomplished that for 8 hours. Eventually we called it and went to bed around 5am. What came in after that was maybe a inch or two and it was gone by the following night. We had a basement sump pump system but no power = no good.
I now have a generator that can power the entire house.

my family rented a cabin frequently near Perth and I am sure we passed a Rideau lake up there somewhere....lovely area....my husband and I took a brief camping trip way up in the provincial park north of Ottawa....all I know is it was at least 17 miles of dirt road.
your remarks about Carter were spot on....he was an ol timey pro America democrat...he was unwise and still is to this day, but I don’t consider him a traitor like I do the rest.
OH gosh darn. I’m so sorry. I pray for you and your family.
ThankQ diogenesis for the chart!
