Gardening is hard work and a good workout.
So I put on my Polar H10 heart rate monitor (HRM) and tracked my efforts with the Polar Beat application on my phone via a bluetooth connection.
Results: Duration: 00:35:34 HR average: 115bpm HR Max: 138bpm Kcals: 293 Zone 2 (HR 60-70%) 08:04 Zone 3 (HR 71-80%) 18:04 Zone 4 (HE 81-90%) 08:29
Plus the resistance work!
I think of all the hours spent in my gym with machines and weights and now resolve to direct some of that work into a better garden...while maintaining a fitness regimen.
Sounds like you don’t have to do that until June 6th! Plenty of time.
I am actually looking forward to getting in a better routine of mowing the lawn this year. The neighbor boy did it most of the time last year, but I should be home a lot more this year. I enjoy mowing and certainly can use the exercise.
Did my gardening exercises today. Read several seed catalogs and placed orders with two of them.
I would order early folks as the out of stock items will be very high this year.
Question. Which seed company has the best prices for bulk quantities?
I ordered from Seedway and True Leaf which was Mountain Valley Seed. I also ordered from Todd’s Seeds earlier.
Used a chart that shows seed life in years and ordered enough for three years on most items. Sweet corn seed has gone through the roof!
I things keep on going the way they are, we will all be spending nights, weekends and vacations on collective farms picking the bugs off the organic produce. At least we get a free workout.
Anyone else into sprouting?
I am wanting some fresh zucchini. Made the last big one into a soup a few days ago.

First Saturday of May is World Naked Gardening Day.

I absolutely despise exercise for the sake of it, but a good workout in the garden, cutting firewood, building fence, or any other worthwhile endeavor is good for the soul and the body.
