This is how the average middle-class person who may only have heard the term “communism” a few times during his school days begins to understand that we are SO SCREWED. He will complain and complain about shortages and the lowered standards for quality and blah, blah, blah. But he’ll keep voting for Democrats who vow to fix the problem anyway until the electoral process is completely controlled by collectivism.

Oh no! Shortages are the result of the way communist manage the economy! They do not like it, but they cause it and they cannot help it!
By government running the production, there are few products to sell, by government setting the prices, there are hoardings and shortages! Black-markets soon develops.
We are still a lot better off than the citizens of Cuba/Venezuela/former Soviet Union.
But, if we use the “global warming” methodology (fit line, extrapolate the trend), we are well on the way!
