Whether it's a shortage of grocery items or prices skyrocketing at stores—shoppers aren't happy. Due to supply chain issues that have caused strain on major retailers like Walmart, Kroger, Food Lion, Costco, customers are experiencing frustrations while shopping for food and other daily essentials at their local stores.

We reached out to our readers on Facebook and Twitter and asked them to share about the specific grocery shortages that are currently frustrating them the most. Customers from around the U.S. wrote in their current frustrations at stores—and a few repeated items popped up from shopper complaints.

The pasta I can’t find in the store, I order online.
I can find colavita mini shells and barilla pastina on amazon.

I also hate what commies do...
You do know that tuna is an excellent source of taurine, right, though you are totally right in that tuna is not a good substitute for cat foot. It’s too high in protein and lacks a bunch of other nutrients cat’s need.

Half and Half, table cream, etc.

What I discovered at my supermarket, is they get delivery for dairy on only certain days of the week. If you shop on those days, you get stuff. Next time you are at the supermarket, ask them when they get deliveries and shop then.

“...ask them when they get deliveries and shop then.”

I go to the farm market that is one mile further up the road. They have cows, and the half and half is not “ultrapasturized”.

Wow. I'd just go head n shoulders, though the tgel is the best.

I wonder if Neutrogena discontinued it since coal tar pitch is considered a carcinogen. There is plenty of CTP at coal-fired power plants just sitting there seeping into the water supply. (-:

This is the first time Walmart has been lacking in cat food here. We always shop the BOGO’s at Publix. We get certain things at Wally World then finish our shopping at Publix.

Venezuela didn’t always have only 50 store items newbie. Shortages for first time in over half a century does mean something. Only a fool will not pay attention.

This evening I went over to the local WalMart to get a few things. I got 3 boxes of Bow Tie pasta. The entire pasta row was decimated but I did get my 3 boxes.

Next I was looking for a small container of plain yogurt. Had to settle for a large container. Ditto for the Yogurt selection which was terrible.

I bought 1 can of canned chicken for the bunker and 4 cans of vegetable and beef soup. Still not much vegetable soup in that store.

I wanted to get a bottle of mild ring peppers. Only about 8 feet total of pickles, olives and peppers, really terrible.

Maybe about 10 green bell peppers in the entire store and I bought the absolute last package of fresh boneless chicken breasts. Finally picked up a box 10 pc Great Value breaded fish fillets and a gallon of Turkey Hill ice cream, the price of which was up 50 cents from last week. Ice cream selection was poor also.

Overall lots of bare shelves or shelves with holes on them.

My goodness but you are a testy little troll, newbie. What a compelling argument you make. What makes you people so angry all the time?

Costco today had none of their pre-cooked bacon, first sign of the Apocalypse I thought.

Safeway didn’t have any of their normal eggs in the cardboard cartons. Had something called “Egg Land” eggs in a plastic carton.

I’m in the Seattle area and wonder if it has to do with the mountain passes being snowed in since Wednesday with no shipments coming in from the east?

I posted about not getting chips one time and someone here thought I was seeing too much into it. We have all been seeing shortages and they are only getting worse.

My wife was preparing to make her famous Lithuanian bacon bread for some friends, and we looked looked at several grocery stores for Pillsbury Crescent Dough Sheets...NO ONE had them, so she's going to improvise.

I made those bacon buns, once. Didn't use crescent roll dough sheets, made the dough from scratch.

I'll pass along the challenge to her :-)

BTW, Her recipe isn't really a bun, it's more like a loaf that you cut slices from.
