What could possibly have happened to Ted to turn him into a shill for Democrat talking points on January 6, 2021?
I know from the volume of email I’ve received on it that Ted Cruz’s comments on January 6, 2021, calling it “a violent terrorist attack on the Capitol” have outraged many conservatives. Ted was once the darling of intellectually inclined conservatives, but I think the bloom is now off that rose.
Tucker Carlson used video of Cruz’s comments as the keystone of a segment on how Republicans are being cowardly and granting Democrats their false premises on the riot at the Capitol being an insurrection or even a “terrorist attack.” As Tucker put it, he was delivering talking points for Merrick Garland.
Is he feeling pressure over having protested voting results and fears being branded as an insurrectionist? Maybe he thinks Mark Elias’s scheme to disqualify Republicans from running for office is a real threat to him. But he should know that appeasing the enemy does not work.
Has he been in the Senate too long, and now wants to avoid confrontation with the Democrats? “Comity” is the word that used to be used, but these days the Democrats are offering none of it. They want to destroy the filibuster to ram through voting procedures that would enable perpetual cheating with mail-in ballots being counted for days after the election.

What do you expect, he is a career politician. We need to term limits.
“Yes, and how does he possibly think he can win the presidential nomination?” If they want him to win, they will rig it for him. He is just waiting for his turn to be President.
“What happened to Ted Cruz?”
NOTHING - we’re just getting to know him better. No different than that guy with the fake eyepatch.
Remember, Ted Cruz took Soros funding. He’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing - dangerous, unprincipled and unfaithful to the U.S. Constitution.
I think Cruz’s statements couldn’t be any more vague. Pure politician. Whichever way this all plays out, he can take a side.

Secession
It's time for us to jettison those who reject our national values because there's no changing them. Time to secede.
We should extend the invitation to secede on a county by county basis.
While we're at it, since we'd be forming a new country, we should extend the invitation to counties in Canada and Mexico as well.
Note that this option is becoming increasingly popular.

I was hoping the headline was out of context, and he referred to the Antifa/BLM instigators, but it didn’t sound much like it.
Totally out of character.
Perhaps I’m correct and he was only kissing up to police. He was correct about terrorists.
Nothing “happened” to him.
He was always a self-serving, phony bitch.
“Yes, and how does he possibly think he can win the presidential nomination?”
His plan may be to send Garland a message that conservative leaders would support arresting and jailing Trump. And if that happens, Cruz figures he’d then be the only conservative the base has left to support...thereby giving him a path to the White House otherwise closed off by Trump. (I know, sounds like a stretch - but I’m trying to come up with something other than he’s an emotional wreck like Liz Cheney)
Or maybe Cruz simply hates Trump so much that he doesn’t care about his political career (which he pretty much ended ended anyway between his Convention Stunt and jetting off to Cancun and lying about it).
Wasn’t it a week or so ago someone in the media or somewhere came out and started going after his 13 year old daughter ?
“Look at some of our “front runners” — Pence? Cruz? Christie?”
For Pence, that’s by default after 4 years as VP. Always happens.
For Christie, he’s just a toy that the media plays with to anger our side he (and all like him) have no support in the party, only in the media and only to anger us.
For Cruz, he did everything needed to sound conservative (3 prayer breakfasts, every day, during campaign season (only), etc.) - votes good, but lives on some planet than his voters...and now we’re all seeing it.
It will be interesting to see if Ted addresses this faux pas.
“Ted hasn’t changed. I stopped putting any trust in him years ago. He occasionally sounds good. But he is never really good.”
That’s my take as well.
CanuckTed is an establishment leftist of the DNC cult.
In 2016, CanuckTed blamed Trump for the riots at a Trump rally in Chicago.
“Ted Cruz criticized for calling Jan. 6 riot a ‘violent terrorist attack’”
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/ted-cruz-januaray-6-terrorist-attack-criticism
Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz got blowback from some on the right, including Fox News host Tucker Carlson, after he called the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol a “violent terrorist attack.”
No, that is a myth. When Texas joined the Union in 1845, the resolution annexing Texas said it could divide itself into as many as 4 states. It did not state that Texas could leave the Union. Texas did try to leave the Union in 1861 along with some other states. It didn't work out so well.
Simple! Just like others in DC, mr cruz is a self-serving snake who can’t be trusted with your future. Other than that he is probably a nice guy most of the time.
From Wikipedia (highlights added):
"In 2003, [Ted Cruz' wife, Heidi] Cruz reported directly to National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice. Cruz eventually became the director for the Western Hemisphere on the National Security Council where she "had Rice's ear."[31] During a New York Times interview, Cruz recalled enjoying her tenure with the Bush administration and found her work to be "personally fulfilling."[33] That year, she delivered the commencement address for the graduating class of Tennessee's Southern Adventist University.[19]
After commuting between Washington, D.C. and her husband's home state of Texas for a year, she moved to Texas in 2004, where she briefly worked for Merrill Lynch.[24] She has previously worked for JPMorgan Chase.[13] In 2005, she began working for Goldman Sachs as a private wealth manager.[34]
From 2005 to 2011, she was an active member of the Council on Foreign Relations and was a member of the Independent Task Force on North America that in 2005, published a report entitled "Building a North American Community."[30][35] Cruz sits on the Board of Directors for the Greater Houston Partnership.[36] After seven years at Goldman Sachs, Cruz was promoted in 2012, to regional head of the Southwest United States for the Investment Management Division in Houston.[7][18][37] In 2019, the Trump Administration interviewed Cruz as a finalist for the position of president of the World Bank.[38]"
March 11, 2016 was the night I parted ways with Cruz. I was already in the tank because it was the fifth anniversary of Fukushima, and then because Keith Emerson had committed suicide because he couldn't play the organ anymore, and then Cruz stood in that department store doorway and started blaming Trump for the protests at the Chicago rally, and I started screaming at the TV, calling Cruz things God never intended. I knew that night that Trump was the one over the target, because he was taking all the flak, and I've flown in his formation ever since.
No matter how much I may ‘like’ a politician, no one gets a third term in my voting booth.
Ted has always been in the pockets of Goldman-Sachs.
