Hope it is true.

Just in case you weren’t aware;

Most people think that the upcoming confirmation hearing for the open Supreme Court judge’s opening will result in a party line 50-50 vote with the Vice President coming in to cast the tie breaking vote.

Not so........

The VP’s ability to cast a tie breaking vote only applies to matters of legislation (law making). It does not apply to judicial selections

The Democrats will need to find a Republican to cross party lines to vote for their nominee

So, the Democrats will need to nominate somebody with less than radical leftist leanings or the nomination will fail

If the Democrats fail to get bipartisan support for their candidate and the nomination fails, it is totally possible that their second nominee won’t be able to complete the process before the midterm elections this November

If the Senate flips to a Republican majority in November (the current polls indicate that it will), then the Democrats will have an even greater need to find bipartisan support for their candidate

Should be an interesting process!
